We recently held a lunchtime seminar at Trowers and Hamlins on the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) which come into force in May next year.
First up was data expert Michael Warren from Stanton Allen who outlined the GDPR landscape and timescales.
John Verry, Director of Risk and Compliance at Trowers mapped out how to strategically roll out GDPR within an organisation and the importance of getting senior level support from the early stages. John referred to some useful documents from the ICO including a useful checklist of steps.
Finally Trowers CRM manager, Richard Fulton, shared some useful practical tips on how to put GDPR into practice. The main emphasis was on how important it is to act now if you would like to retain a good percentage of your database for marketing purposes post May 2018.
The key message was to act now and don’t wait!
