LinkedIn: How to harness it to win business « all news

22nd January 2016

Profile’s first event of 2016, looked at LinkedIn and how the tool can be harnessed to win new business. This lunchtime seminar was kindly sponsored by Boodle Hatfield.

Firstly providing an in house practical case study on implementing a LinkedIn Strategy was Michael Girgenti, Marketing and Business Development Manager at Boodle Hatfield. He talked through the process of holding workshops with fee earners, monitoring progress and ensuring individual profiles were optimised and encouraging the posting of content. He was also keen to stress the quality versus quantity rule with connections; “If you’re not willing to recommend someone – don’t LinkIn with them!” He advised setting aside 30 minutes per week to review LinkedIn.

Next Social Media trainer, Su Butcher from Just Practising, provided five tips for an effective LinkedIN strategy. These points have been summarised on her latest blog post. She provided a fascinating 30 minute session packed with practical tips on how to maximise the potential of this powerful networking tool.

This was followed by a lively Q and A, with the audience (a mix of marcomms professionals and fee earners) querying topics such as how to avoid getting unwanted posts and how to effectively interact with connections.

Thanks so much to Su Butcher, Michael Girgenti and Boodle Hatfield for a fascinating seminar.
